A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Match winds and April showers bring May flowers!
We may still have some winter weather but Spring is right around the corner.

March is another exciting and busy month around Mountain View! The PTO/Parent Science Night was a HUGE success!
We had well over 300 people here to experience and learn from the Catawba Science Center.

We have our Kinder Fun Times on March 15th at 6:00 pm. If you or someone your know has a child who will be 5 years old on or before August 31st - join us for important information!

Our Pre-K Screening is also scheduled for March 17th. If you have a child that needs to register for Pre-K, please call the school to schedule a screening time!

A couple of other days to keep on your radar: March 21st is now a makup day for the last snow/bad weather.

This month ends our 3rd Grade period! I warned you! Time flies when you are having fun and the rest of the year will fly by as well!

Keep working hard with one last strong effort!

Dr. Jodi Weatherman

Library Corner

Read Across America March 2, 2022

1. Read together every day. You can read the morning news at breakfast, share a story after supper, or cuddle up for a book at bedtime. A daily reading routine is something everyone can look forward to.
2. Talk and build vocabulary. Interesting conversations build vocabulary, language skills, and knowledge about the world. Talk is a child's best source of exposure to new words and ideas.
3. Model reading. Kids want to do what the grownups do. Make sure your kids get to see you reading and hear you talk about it.
4. Point out print. Read and talk about the words you see in the world around you. Ther's lots to read- signs, recipes, cereal boxes, manual for assembling different things, schedules, newspapers, maps and menus.
